The Venue

Casa Terra

Welcome Home Retreats are delighted to have sole use of the unique and beautiful Casa Terra for the September Retreat.

Casa Terra offers guests authentic and ambient bedrooms spread out over the upper and ground floor, all open to nature. On the upper floor of the main house, there are two large bedrooms, one of which has a terrace with superb sea views. Surrounded by myrtle and vetiver, the five ground-floor bedrooms blend into the landscape, offering privacy and cosy comfort.

The rooms are bright, simple and refined, and each has a furnished terrace under a pergola of eucalyptus sticks.

Exquisitely decorated and using local materials, the common areas of the main house open onto the garden, inviting you to relax and enjoy moments of conviviality. The terrace has a seating area and a dining table in the shade of a vine.

In an oasis of greenery bathed in the light of the Algarve, Casa Terra is the ideal place to regenerate.

Welcome

Our property is part of Altanure.  Altanure is, above all, a way of approaching the environment. Our intention is to develop and organize natural spaces so that you can feel this connection with nature.

Altanure, “Être la nature” [Being nature].
In an edible landscape organized in harmony with the extraordinary biotope that surrounds the house and where guests can find a cultivated orchard and a permaculture vegetable garden, guests will naturally be in tune with their own, inner environment.

Casa Terra has its own identity in terms of architecture and space planning. The same natural and luminous atmosphere of well-being fills and expands the space, both inside and outside.

Palm leaf shutters, tables carved from local stone and traditional regional tiles provide natural and exquisite décor.

The environment of Altanure is marked by the natural beauty of the bucolic landscape of the Tavira region and its proximity to the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. This unique ecosystem is intrinsically linked to the region and its biotope, with its lagoons forming a barrier beach with sandbanks and extensive beaches.

Behind the coast, the Barrocal is the Algarve scrubland that connects the coastal plain to the mountains, dotted with orange, almond, olive and carob trees. Further afield, the regional landscape gives way to the red earth of rounded hills, quiet villages and craft factories.
